General description

The customer required pine suitably coloured to match among other things the existing pine doors. It had to be shaped to fit into the corner of the room, support the TV etc and yet, allow the door to open fully.

A master template for the shape was made from brown  paper no less. When the customer was satisfied that the door would open sufficiently, that was it !

The top and base were made by biscuit jointing several boards together. These were cut according to the template.

The plinth was made by gluing a series of blocks together and also cut by following the template.

The bottom of the unit sits on the carpet. The top shelf is buttoned to a batten affixed to the wall.

The colour and finish is achieved using several coats of thinned button polish (to generate the warm yellow colour~) rubbed on then cut back and wax polished.
