Display Cabinet General description
An urgent call from loudspeaker company late on a Thursday afternoon; they
required a
display stand for the following Monday.
The cabinet was made on the Friday morning using
6mm MDF. It was then sprayed 3x times with a very
expensive fast drying "high build" primer
(Zinsser) and flattened off with 280 grit between each coat. .
On Saturday morning the primer surface was again
and finally cut back using 400
wet and dry. The first coat of eggshell black was sprayed on
(all done using an HLVP spray gun).
On Sunday, after a hearty breakfast and a quick scan of
the papers, the process was repeated.
Monday 2pm it was in the showroom awaiting
the product to be placed on it.
Why not use formica plastic laminate you say? Well, you try
getting hold of plastic laminate with a weekend and
that kind of schedule to meet.
