Within the customer's house there are two alcoves
arising from recent building work. The brief was
to build into these recesses two wall units each 2.4 metres
tall 600 mm wide and 470 mm deep. It was a requirement that there be adjustable shelves,
both solid and glass, along with discreet
lighting.
The units had to match existing furniture including a
piece of work that I had made previously see -
coffee table and
console table The units are
made from American cherry with cupboards at the top
and bottom. The doors are "raised and fielded"
in style,
with polished brass butt hinges and thereby matching
an existing sideboard .
