I was asked to make a storage unit for a young
man's bedroom. It had to accommodate all the usual
teenage boy's stuff including shoes, trainers etc.

second view of the unit.
General description
The unit was made as a series of units in pine, the
finish satin polyurethane. Along the bottom is a small
cupboard to take bags and bulky items. In the middle a
series of drawers for small garments. At the right hand end,
two shelves for two printers.
Photo 3 above: The room has a sink in it with the
supporting brackets and all the pipe work below fully
exposed. The cupboard was made to fit under and around the
sink.
Photo 4 above: The
shelves were made to fit around the pipe work and they
each have a "double extension" runners so that they
may extend right out of the unit (rather like filing cupboard
drawers) for easy access. It may not be immediately
obvious but these are a dainty size 12 shoes and
trainers.
Photo 5& 6 above: Above the sink is a small cupboard with
two mirrors. Above the cupboard are three "cornice lights"
the angles of these can be adjusted. Below the cupboard and
to the right (but not visible) is a touch switch. One touch
and the lights come on. A second touch and they go off. If
one's finger is held on the switch, the lights will dim up
or down depending on their starting position.
