Alcove cupboards

General description

A  traditional Victorian mid  terrace house, with a request for matching bookshelves each side of the chimney breast.

However, to complicate things, there was (and remains) an electricity meter and fuse box in the front r/h bay. Obviously continuing access would be important.

There was also  an existing  cupboard in the l/h bay. The brief was to copy the existing cupboard  to the r/h side and build and build fixed shelving on top of each cupboard. In addition, the back of the new cupboard should be such that it can be easily removed for access to the meter and the fuse box.

A new base cupboard an exact copy  of the existing one . Both base cupboards have solid brass pulls and  fixed shelving on top. The original cupboard is yet to be repainted.

The two cupboards fully populated  and  looking for all the world as if they have been in place for years....
